Born in the Netherlands, I initially completed my degrees as a cancer researcher. I then moved to Australia, where I trained as a gastroenterologist. I moved my wife and two children to New Zealand to perform advanced interventional endoscopy. This work is very satisfying to me as I can have a big impact on the heath outcomes of my patients.

I am passionate about education outside my work as well. For the last 3 years I have run the "spaceteddy" project at Forrest Hill primary school. By sending a teddy bear into near space, the children learn about science, environment as well as computer programming.

An absolutely awesome consultant, with an excellent and genuine concern for patient care. I consider myself extremely fortunately to have been referred under his professional care and his treatment, has genuinely improved my quality of life. By far the most supportive and expert gastroenterologist that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you for your continued support.
